Privacy policy

ReadSwift, by Black Box Code LLC. .

The short version: ReadSwift has no account, no sign-up and no server of its own. Your training data stays on your device. The app shares a device identifier and usage events with an analytics provider, and purchase data with the subscription provider, and nothing else.

What ReadSwift stores on your device

Your baseline, target speed, every drill result, your streak, your onboarding answers, your language and reminder preferences. All of it is stored locally in the app's own storage. Deleting the app deletes it. The Settings tab also has a "Reset training history" action that clears it in place.

None of this is uploaded to us. We cannot see it, back it up or restore it.

What leaves your device

Usage analytics (Amplitude)

The app sends anonymous usage events to Amplitude, a product analytics service, so we can see which features are used and where the app fails. Each event carries a random device identifier generated by the app, the app version, the device model and operating system version, your app language, and the event itself (for example "drill completed" with the drill mode and the quiz score). The identifier is not linked to your name, email, phone number or any account, because the app does not have any. It is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

If you do not want this, you can decline analytics on the device level where your operating system offers it, or contact us to have a device identifier's events deleted.

Purchases (RevenueCat, Apple, Google)

Premium is sold through the App Store or Google Play. The store processes the payment under its own privacy policy, and the app passes the purchase receipt to RevenueCat, the service that checks whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user id generated on your device, the receipt and the device's store country. We never see your payment details.

Nothing else

No advertising networks, no attribution or tracking SDKs, no social logins, no crash-reporting beyond what the operating system provides, no contacts, no photos, no location.

Notifications

The daily reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device. There is no push server. You can turn it off in Settings or in your operating system's notification settings.

Children

ReadSwift is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. The reading passages are public-domain literature.

Your rights

Because the app holds no personal account, the data we could act on is the analytics history tied to a device identifier. Email us from the device in question, or with the identifier shown in Settings > About, and we will delete those events. Residents of the EU, UK, California and other jurisdictions with privacy laws have the right to access, correct and delete data about them, and to complain to a supervisory authority; the same email address handles all of it.

This website

readswift.live is a static site. It uses Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation to count visits and see which pages lead to app downloads. Links to the App Store and Google Play carry a campaign tag naming the page and traffic source so the stores can report installs per campaign; the tag contains no personal data.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the new version is published here before it takes effect.
